Cape to Cape Walk

CAPE TO CAPE -14 day walking holiday (10 days walking )

This guided walk involves undertaking the whole of the Kyrenia Mountain Trail, ‘Cape to Cape’ 143 miles/230 km’- From Zafer Burnu (Cape Zafer) to Korucam Burnu (Cape Korucam). This new and exciting linear walk on the KMT leads  past the three famous Crusader Castles plus other sites of great interest. There can be few trails if any, that give the chance to walk the most wonderful scenic route in the Mediterranean. Pure unspoilt nature, profuse flora and fauna in areas which have rarely been walked for 40 years and staying in small hotels and rest houses where kind friendly hospitality is the order of the day - rare in this rushing, hectic world. Rest days give the chance to visit Famagusta, best described as an open air museum with ancient Salamis nearby, the Roman City with amphitheater. Other days give the chance to visit Nicosia, a completely walled Venetian city full of history, and beautiful Kyrenia with its picture postcard harbour and castle. Come to North Cyprus and experience a country where courtesy, service and hospitality are the norm, and an astonishingly friendly people say ‘welcome to my country’.

BRIEF ITINERARY 

Day  1 - Arrive, stay at Balci Plaza
Day  2 - Zafer Burnu A1 to A 28, (13.3miles/21.2km). Night at Balci Plaza.
Day  3 - A28 to B17 BalciPlaza, (17.6miles/28.1km). Night at Balci Plaza.
Day  4 - B17 to C 26 Ziyamat, (14.7miles/23.5km). Night at Balci Plaza.
Day  5 - C26 to D15 Kantara, (16.8miles/26.8km). Night at Kantara Rest House.
Day  6 - Rest day. Optional day trip to Famagusta, Bogaz and Salamis. Night at Kantara Rest House.
Day  7 - D15 to D35 Tatlisu (15.4miles/24.6km). Night at Kantara Rest House.
Day  8 - D35 to E21 Sourp Magar (15.2miles/24.6km). Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day  9 - E21 to F18 Dikman 13.5miles/21.6km). Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day 10 - Rest day, optional day trip to Nicosia. Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day 11 - F18 to F40 Lapta Cross Roads (15.8miles/25.2km). Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day 12 - F40 to G20 Geticoy (13.6miles/21.7km). Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day 13 - Rest day, Kyrenia. Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day 14 - G20 to G40 End.(11.5miles/18.4km). Night at Riverside Holiday Village.
Day 15 – Depart
