4X4 HOLIDAY IN NORTHERN CYPRUS

Based in Northern Cyprus Cyprus Active Holidays offers a superb chance to go off roading in a wonderful country with a vast area of tracks and trails where there are no rights of way - you may go anywhere!

Cyprus at the far eastern end of the Mediterranean has more than 350 days of sunshine per year. Spring and autumn are a wonderful time for driving high into the mountains on endless tracks in a warm and pleasant climate to enjoy the spectacular views of the sea below.

The Kyrenia Mountain Trail is a wonderful 143 mile track all along the top of the mountain chain that makes up the whole coast of Northern Cyprus. The trail is way marked, stage notes and maps are downloadable from the site.

ACCOMODATION

We offer accommodation in the popular Riverside Holiday Village in a variety of units (one or two bedroomed apartments and villas). One of the owners of Riverside,  Enver Ozbirim, is a keen member of the North Cyprus 4x4 club and has made a special offer for UK Clubs for the spring and autumn season.

VEHICLES

As the going is usually firm and dusty, big tyres and lots of grunt etc. are not required, indeed the nimble Suzuki Jeeps are better suited to the trails than bigger vehicles. The package includes jeeps with full insurance for off road driving.

PROGRAMME

  • Day 1.  Arrive and settle into Riverside, welcome drink and introduction to your hosts and an outline of the programme.
  • Day 2.  Breakfast and then into the jeeps for a guided day out. Straight up into the mountains followed by a visit to the dune area and 9 mile beach at Akdeniz. Includes local lunch. 
  • Days 3 - 7.  Drive as you wish, or with a guide from the North Cyprus 4x4 Club*. They are a great bunch of guys who know all the best tracks and tours and would love to show you their country.
  • Day 8.  Breakfast and away.

There is space from 7th February through to April, excluding Easter. You can start any day.
